ChimataMusic's gAnA bajAnA held at Srini's place in Bay Area

Hi folks,

#### Enter ChimataMusic08 in the Youtube.com' search field to watch the Video Clips of our gAnA bajAnA -2008 event.. I will keep adding the 10 min. long video clips in next two ,three days (upto 20 or so)########


Some of you are aware that we had a very good gAnA bajAna fun event in June 2007 at my place (search by the key word, ChimataMusic to see that event's video clips). We usually meet twice a year to have such fun events (one time at my place in Fremont, CA and another at Ramesh Vadali's place (of AndhraKitchen.com) at Sacramento, CA).

This time we had a few new first-comers like our very own Hanuman gAru, Prasad Doorvasula gAru, Murali Sambara and Murali Chari (of Tetageeti blog), apart from our regular AshtAna vidhvAmsulu like Vijay Vemuri, Babu Movva, Ramaa Vadali etc.

A total of a dozen families gathered at my place on Nov 29th (during the ThanksGiving long weekend) and we started off with a pot-luck lunch followed by a first round of singing session, then Hanuman's Quiz on Telugu movies/actors, Tea-break, another small singing round, then Dinner and finally a second round of songs along with Murali Chari's entertainment and it went until the mid-night.

Hanuman gAru along with his wife and two kids (from Sunnayvale, which is 20 miles away from my place) came first among all the guests and we both started chatting on the movies that I never watched so far and Hanuman gAru went over the movie stories of angaDi bomma, kanyA kumAri, jeevita rangam(K Bala Chandar's) etc. Then Prasad Doorvasula gAru along with his wife came in and we three again chatted about some movies like Sivaranjani etc. Prasad gAru came to the SFO airport along with me to drop SP Balu and his team (after their Bay Area concerts were over in the weekend of Sept 13th) and he has a good rapport with Balu even in India starting from the mid-70's.

Ravikanth Ponnapalli along with his mom and his son Vachan (a child prodigy) came in around noon time.

Ramesh, Ramaa Vadali gArlu along with their teenager son came in all the way from Sacramento (2: 30 hour drive) a little late around 3: 00 PM.

Padmaja and Siva Mogili drove from Tracy, CA (1: 30 hour drive) just not to miss the fun event and brought in some tasty samosas from their new restaurant, Sannidi.com in Pleasanton, CA.

Murali Sambara (another good singer with a great voice) along with his family a little late around the evening and stayed there for about three hours.

My dear cousin, Late Latif Babu Movva and his family came in around 4: 00 PM, though we constantly reminded him that he should be there by noon Other cousins Bhaskar Bandikallu and Viswanadham Bokkisam for the first time tried singing in this event. Bhaskar pleasantly surprised us with "chiru navvula tolakarilO" song.

Murali Chari came around 9: 30 PM in the night along with his dad and entertained all of us with his mimicry items and songs. Murali Chari is a popular multi-faceted talented guy in the Bay Area and we all had nice time with his company.

We felt a strong absence of my dynamic friend, Suresh Mantrala and his family in this event. We are planning to visit the East Coast maybe the next year and we will have one such fun event at Suresh's place (Raleigh, NC) and another in Virginia (got a lot of relatives/friends there). Let us see if any of our Web site lovers would join us during that time.
