Suresh Mantrala, Surya Guduru, Krishna Mohan Dandamudi (Citi Cable), Ravi Vinnakota, Ramesh Vinnakota, Krishna Ganimisetti (CherryFans), Raghava Boppudi, Kamesh Kalapala (kkleo), Surya Kondapalli (sunson), Surya Prasad (Agent 116), Raghuram Maganti, Srikanth Maganti, Ali Shaik, Balu, Mahesh Vaddi, Srinivas Chandu, Mallik Racha, Nageswara Sarma Manda and four other guests (that accompanied a few invitees) and myself.

I am currently in India on a 5 week long vacation (July - Aug) and I thought of meeting some of the folks (living in India) that have contributed to our site and hence become very dear to me.
By the time we (Ravi, Ramesh, and myself) reached the hotel by 10: 40 AM, Surya G, Radhava and Suya K were already waiting for us there. In paritcular, Surya G flew from Colombo just to meet us, putting aside his important business tasks. In addition, Raghava from Vijayawada, 116 and Sarma from B'lore, and Ramesh from Guntur came to Hyd just for the event. Slowly others started joining us and we started talking about the site, songs etc and each of us knew more about the other person.
We had lunch (buffet) at 1: 30 PM and then we liesurely sat down and chatted for another half-an-hour.
Fun Game:
Suresh divided all the attendees into six teams and the game is about catching a pallavi, when a charaNam of the song is played from the laptop and finding a pallavi, when a tune (start or the middle of) of the song. Surya Pradad (116) amazed the rest of the folks (Surya and I already know about him  ) with his immense knowledge with the movies and songs- he did not miss even a single song and emerged out as a winner of the game. While his team won 70 points, the rest of the five teams stood there with 45 and 50 points. The game went on for almost two hours.
Raghuram and Srikanth (Maganti brothers) seem to be very good singers. Although all of the attendees are either engineers or entrepreneurs or writers, we all have one thing in common - an excellent music taste and a penchant for the 60's/70's/80s songs, which is the reason we were all there. We had an excellent time and time just flew away. I was very pleased to meet all of them and in particular, Surya Guduru gAru, who provided more than 1500 songs to the site. Surya and I very much missed Nanda Kishore and Santha Ram (who are in B'lore and could not make it to the event).
I appreciate Suresh for organizing the fun game. Thanks to Surya for bringing me and Suresh two artistic, beautiful gifts (small portraits engraved with with chemically treated live-flowers - Colombo special).

Thanks for the wonderful day Srini & Suresh!
It was a great pleasure to me to fly down the distance for the magnificient gathering. Meeting Surya Prasad was a pleasant surprise to me and I was really amazed with his knowledge of the songs of 70's and 80's.
The 5 hour time ran out so quickly and I found it very hard to leave the crowd. I thank everyone who have spared their valuable time for the ocassion and participated in the event so actively. I request all of you to continue their active participation in this DB too! |

We finish the event at 4PM (I missed out last 30 min part of it) and by 10 PM Srini posts a detailed report on the forum. All this while being in India for a personal vacation (and that too probably when staying with his in-laws).
What else can be a proof of the love that Srini has for the site?
I am glad to be invited by Srini. It was a pleasure meeting all those in the event.

I am the person who is regretting the most for not making it to Hyd on 4th august. I really missed the oppurtunity of meeting the stalwarts....
