I am starting a new topic similar to Discussion on Weekly songs Twisted Evil (maree anta twisted evil kakapoyina 'copycat' uddesinchi vadaanu oops )

This topic should have been started longtime back when we were adding new songs regularly Sad Better late than never! 70s and 80s hit songs can never be complete. Whenever I start feeling proud that our site has almost all the hit songs of that period and any song hardly left, requests for more songs start pouring in from new members and guests. To our surprise, some of the songs are such a hit those days, we wonder how we have missed them.

Everyone here will be listening to the newly added songs after several years or wouldn't remember hearing till now. How is your feeling? What is your rating of the songs and comments, if any?

Most of the Satyam's songs give a nice feeling to me that I can't express in words. May be I am obsessed or my ears respond well to his music, my first choice always will be his songs. So I will here make my comments only about other songs Smile

My pick of the songs in the newly added list is ' vechcha vechani ne vodilo..' sung by my favourite pair SP & SJ. The song is a fast beat by KV Mahadevan which gave me a good kick. Would have heard after 30 years atleast. SP's naive voice is refreshing to hear with SJ.

'navve o chilakamma..' nice to hear SP's original voice.

'chiru chiru navvula sreevaru... and 'andala jalapatam...' sung by PS. I instantly liked these songs.

'palleturi pillagada...' I would have never remembered this song had a guest not requested for it. I am very thankful to the guest. One of the first radical films, the film did very well at box-office and this song was a big hit those days. I don't think this song can be found anywhere else!

'yavvanam guvva lantidi...' and 'sreemati ante naakento...'Very popular songs those days from unknown films. The later being one of the very few of G.Anand'

'papa peru lily...' by SJ. Though not a melodious song like the other songs in Mounageetam, this song deserves a special place for the highly skill of SJ to modulate her voice like a teenage boy. The male voice in the song is JV Raghavulu, it seems!! Can anyone confirm?

'nidura pora saamee...' One of the very few songs in GH and SJ combination.

'monagada chinavada...' I don't know how this song is missing on this site having other songs from the film.

Other songs are normal. Chakravati voiced in 'natnalu chalinchara...' song

suryagaru,

Yavvanam guvvalantidi paata vintunte meekinko chakravathy thune gurtuku raaleda...

Vandanam abhivandanam paata ee song inspirationto thayarayyi undochchu kada

annadammulu song vini chaala anandam vesindi. Naku SPB 67-75 Songs ante vipareethamaina abhimanamkada

voice entha letaga undi kada and his own way of imitating ghantasala is evident in this song also, may song would have been recorded in early 68only

Surya, what is GH and SJ combination? nidurapora song was sung by SPB (and SJ) and not by Ghantasala. This is perhaps the very first song SPB sang for NTR which is rare those days when Ghantasala was still around.

Surya,

I am not going to disappoint you and Santha Ram.. I will host at least 20 songs every week going forward with out a failure. The songs you and Santa Ram sent me would last for a few more months!

I liked "veccha vecchani" and so my guess is right about the music director.. Now I have a very good idea on mAma's sangutulu in his songs.. This song is still haunting me Smile

"Amrutam tAgina vALLu" is also very good song.. I did not host the sad version as it just goes only for a minute.

"niddura pOrA sAmi"... Balu sang for NTR for the first time. I was earlier thinking that "ettAli araka.. dunnAli meraka" or "Sreekrishna Satya" padhyAlu are the first ones by Balu for NTR. But niddura song is his first NTR song.

More later,
Srini

srini, some missing/incorrect info about the latest songs. amruthma thaginavallu was written by Gopi. Mahamanishi's MD was Satyam (how could you miss that? Smile ) and not JV Raghavulu. bhale papa MD is R. Sudarshanam. the pooche pula lona song was written by some less known lyricist whose name I don't recall immediately. I have the CD for that song ans I will look up and tell you later. If you don't hear from me soon feel free to yell at me.

Surya, one song you did not mention but used to be very good and popular is the nee konguna bangaru rangulato from poruginti puulakura. It was picturized on Ramakrishna (actor) and Kanchana. Talking about that movie, it also had another popular song those days by Ramakrsihna (singer) that goes rajunu choosina kannulato mogunni chooste chulakanale...poruginti pullakura entho ruchiga undunule.. Does any one else recall this song?

I accidentally saw the mahAmanishi movie ad on Teja TV almost a year ago and I was pleasantly surprised that the chUpulu song was in that movie. My initial guess was Chakravarthi.. then I saw the same song in Athreya's book written by Sanjay Kishore that the music is by JVR. Normally, Sanjay Kishore thorougly checks before putting the info... so I just blindly believed him Smile If you say it is Sathyam with confidence, then I will change it to Sathyam.

As Surya and I talked earlier, JVR's tunes seem to be a little tricky.. he adopts a combination of Sathyam/Chakravarhi styles..

BTW, poruginti pullakUrA lO Murali Mohan ki kUDA EmannA pATalu unnAyA? I did not hear the song you are talking about.

Cheers,
Srini

I have a CD of Yesudas melodies and in that mahamanishi's MD was listed as Satyam so I am going by that.

The rajunu chusina kannulato song from Poruginti Pullakura was pictruized on Murali Mohan and Jayachitra.

I know what you are going to ask me next so I will answer that as well. As the title implies, the story is about two friends Ramakrishna and Murali Mohan. Ramakrishna is an ordinary middle class guy and married to an ambitious Kanchana. Murali Mohan is a rich business man married to Jayachitra. Both wifes are unhappy with their respective situations -- Kanchana likes Ramakrishna to be more enterprising and make more money while Jayachitra wants MM to spend more time with her. So the friends decide to change places (not wives Smile ). So Ramakrishna takes over MM's business and gets busy while MM becomes an ordinary man and spends more time with his wife. Of course, both wives get fed up with their new lifestyles and want to go back to their original lives. All ends well as expected in this family comedy movie.

Thanks Hanuman for correcting me! Even I knew that SPB sang this, but strangely I don't know how I was mistaken in the post.

SPB's original voice which I am very fond of is missing in this song. He tried to imitate Ghantasala since the song is for NTR.

agent, the hai hai song is also one of my favorites from those days. Talking about Chairman Chalamayya, the nayanalu kalise song is more popular but my personal favorite is Hello Chairman Garu..Andukondi naa Joharu. BTW, the MD of Chairman Chalamayya is Salil Choudhary who used his own tune (kai baar yuunhi dekha hai from Rajanaigandha for the nayanalu song.

Surya, in he nidurapora swami song, I think SPB imitated NTR rather than Ghantasala.

I would like to talk about this week's newly added song, dAchukOku valapu vennela from tallee koDukula anubandham movie.

My elder sister watched this movie and narrated the story to me and my younger brother when I was 8th class.. Krishnam Raju vALLa chellelu oka "bet" kaDutundanukunTA.. in case, his brother loses a competition, then.. tanu 100 bucket la neeLLu bAvi lOnunDi tODutAnani or some thing like that.

Coming to the point, Nanda Kishore requested this song almost a year ago and let us know that the original tune is from Silsila.. Recently (a coule of weeks ago), Akshauhini gAru also quizzed about this song in her 24/7 antyAkshari Quiz. Only after uploading this song a week ago, I listened to this song (for the first time). Sathyam did not blindly lift the tune, but you still can his stamp in the tune.

Thanks,
Srini

Only in the very beginning, the tune resembles a bit to "dekha ek khwab" song from silsila. After that I don't see it that much. I don't think it is fair to say that it is a copy of the song; it is more like inspiration from the silsila song.

Thanks Surya for uploading 34 songs today.. I have also uploaded one song from edureeta.

I was planning to upload some songs today morning and I was casually going through the list you sent me earlier and I got stuck with "ee rAdha chivariki EmainA" song Smile Since today morning, the song has been on my mind all the time.. in particular, the starting two lines of each charaNam.

What a composition by Sathyam!!! bow I request all of you to listen to this song, if you have not already.

For some reason, there is no mention of the movie name for this song, when you sent me (or I might have edited the song name when copying it on to my laptop a while ago). So, immediately I googled and I luckily found the movie name on psusheela.org (but no audio available yet there). To my surprise, I am not aware that this song is from edureeta (and we already hosted the rest of five songs).

Surya,

Is the music director of President Peramma mAma or Chakravarthi?? My first assumption is that it could be mAma. Now after listening to it again, it seems that it could be Chakravarthi Smile

I already put this song in Others -1 section a while ago.

Cheers,

Google would have luckily helped you because psuseela.org is also one of the best sites that has abundant information about her songs. Similarly Ghantasala.info also has very good information about his songs. But what about the rest?

I can proudly say that with members like Hanuman, Nandakishore, Sunson, Movielover now joined by Agent, presently our DB is the best place to get information about Telugu film songs. Yesterday I found another member joining our board by the name Bhaskar Ramaiah who appears to have thorough knowledge. The way our site is getting popular day by day, there is every chance that more and more knowledgeable members will join us. Our only drawback is the lack of adequate time to spare for the purpose. If all of us can regularly spare few minutes a day, we can make this site an online library for Telugu film songs information.

Coming back to topic of the thread, the song that pleased me the most in this lot is 'oka manasu padite mohana raagam...' from Mohana Ragam. The last film for the melodious Music Director Master Venu. This film never got released but fortunately the songs record was released for the music lovers to have a last hearing to the wonderful Music Director! PSuseela was at her best in this song.

Chimatamusic takes pride in keeping alive such forgotten gems !

Is the music director of President Peramma mAma or Chakravarthi?? My first assumption is that it could be mAma. Now after listening to it again, it seems that it could be Chakravarthi Smile

I already put this song in Others -1 section a while ago.

Cheers,
Srini

It was Mama.

So, immediately I googled and I luckily found the movie name on psusheela.org (but no audio available yet there). To my surprise, I am not aware that this song is from edureeta (and we already hosted the rest of five songs).

Surya, thanks for the compliment. I am willing to spend some time towards the site whenver I find some time. I may not be able to commit to a specific amount each day but I will contribute whenever I find time. Please let me know.

Thanks Agent Sodara kiss for reminding and sending me some 'long long time, no hear' songs like:

'mallepoovulu pilla navvulu....' of my fav combo

'hai hai enta hai...', 'Allari chupula...' and 'Oho taddimi...' of my fav SJ (inspite of you not liking SJ's songs Wink ) Where is this last song in Subhalekha?

'nannu taaki evaro...' is brilliant. Don't remember hearing that before!

'Ammayigoru...' is refreshing with 'leta' voice of SP

"viplava' songs are also very good musiclisten

Actually that song was recorded for Subhalekha. But it was used in another chiru movie Bandipotu viplava simham, a dubbed movie produced by Aravind.

Wow.. 116.. Hats off to you bow

I saw this new song entry today morning and wanted to call Surya right away, but I could not Sad

If you see the Dholak davuvu, it is 100% KV Mahadevan stamp. In 1987, we had an inter-college competition in PB Siddhartha College, VJA and some girl from Sarada College(??) sang this song. The very next month, I watched this movie, bandipOTu viplava (cross mark unTundi viplava meeda) simham in Jyothi Mahal and was pleasantly surprised to see the same song (that was sung in the competitions) was picturized on Jaya Malini in the climax scene.

Rajani Kanth is the hero and Chiru is a villain (he marries Rajani Kanth's sister and harasses her) and Sridevi is the heroine. Chiru is a decoit and following the yama kinkaruDu action image, the movie was dubbed on his popularity. But I don't recall that the movie was dubbed by Aravind.. no wonder he named the movie title after Chiru's role, though Rajani Kanth is the hero. This movie was released in 1982 and I still remember the wall posters that I saw in in Guntur.

Cheers,
Srini

BTW, Aravind is a co-producer for SubhalEkha. Maybe that's why he put the song in this movie that was dubbed by him (I am sure that the music director of the Tamil original is either Ilaya Raja or MS Viswanadhan... but not mAma for sure:) ).

I too am shocked thay Surya was not aware of this song. I think the MD was GK Venkatesh. Kishor, the inspiration for this song was not gun guna rahe as you mentioned but another song by Rafi and Bhonsle. Unfortunately I don't remember the wording of that song though I can recollect the tune very well. To give you a hint, the tune is identical in the part where Balu sings "ee chakkani chukkanu chekkili nokkuta emo..kala emo". I hope you will be able to recollect the Hindi song with the hint I provided here.

The movie name is Inti Kodalu. The song was picturized on Krishnam Raju and Prameela. The pallavi is:

"chali gaalilo nuluvechchani...bigi kougili..penavesuko...

OK, I found the song clapgrin . Actually it was a Lata+Rafi song. It goes "Woh Hain Zara Khafa Khafa " from the movie Shagird. Here is a link to listen to that song.

Excellent Hanuman and 116..

It is nice to see both of your posts with the songs that don't even strike to my mind.

Let us think more and dig more for the unforgotten melodies.

Cheers,
Srini
