We all know that R.P.Patnaik has been one of the melody makers of Telugu films in the recent past. There are a few surprising comments in some gossip columns that R.P.Patnaik took tunes of Vidyasagar in his highly successful movie “Manasantha Nuvve”. Especially the tune of “Thuneega… Thuneega…” and the title song “Manasantha Nuvve” were originally composed by Vidyasagar.
We find the title song, with a mere two-line lyric, haunts us like some of the old melodies. Who is the creator of this great tune?
We do not know whether Vidyasagar did this work for a Tamil or a Malayalam movie. It is also possible that Vidyasagar composed these tunes and kept them in his bank of tunes. Vidyasagar seems to have complained of this plagiarism with the producer of the movie M.S.Raju… Is this all a mere outcome of grapevine? Is there any grain of truth in these contentions?

I strongly believe that the song 'manasanta nuvve..' is RP's own composition. It may have been inspired from some English(foreign) number.
RP undoubtedly gave some astonishingly melodious music in the start of his career. The songs from 'Nee kosam', ''Nuvvu-nenu', 'Manasanta nuvve', 'Nee sneham' and 'Santosham' haunt forever. RP's music has Ilayaraja's influence and so are as melodious as his. I personally feel that the song 'ne tolisariga..' from 'Santosham' is so extra ordinary that it helped the film to be very successful and bail Nagarjuna out of his lean period.
RP's arrogance and his singing has let down his career. His voice is suited only for a certain mood of songs. Though his voice aptly suited for few songs like 'chiru gaali veechene..' from 'Sivaputrudu composed by IR, he should not have continued to sing duets in his films particularly for Mahesh Babu in 'Nijam'. He lacks variation too!
I too remember reading somewhere that 'tuneega tuneega..' was a Vidyasagar's song in Malayalam. |

hi,
RPs Name is synonymous with plaigarism right from his Chitram days. people who listen to lot of Western music used to tell me why these producers take RP as MD and pay him hefty sum, instead it is better to listen MTV or V Channel and pay to some arrangers for getting those tunes converted into telugu songs and our Lyricists are capable for doing the rest.
Among the generation after chakravarty I found MMK as a great MD but after that duradrushtavantamaina day (release of Bombay priyudu) i am finding he has become repetitive
Another MD who was creatively original and yet couldnt make big mark was Madavapeddi suresh.

Hi..
yes..its true that tuneega tuneega was actually a composition of vidyasagar.Long back,in a interview in Etv(probably when Neeto, KRRs son debut movie was released.Vidyasagar is MD for that), he mentioned that
" anaganaga aakasam vundi" from nuvve kavali &
"tuneega tuneega " were his compositions.
He also said that..
"anaganaga aakaasam vundi" tune was used with his permission..but "tuneega tuneega" wasn't.

| One of my mallu friend confirmed that 'Tuneega tuneega' tune was lifted from a Mallu movie..It was composed by Vidyasagar.. |

Oh yeah for sure Id say they belong. IMO there are a some bands already on HH that are less worthy to be on the site than these guys.
