Saluri Rajeswara Rao is certainly the trendsetting music director in the South Indian film music. He is a household name till late 1970s. He composed 5 tunes for the classic Telugu movie Maya Bazar, and due to some difference of opinion with the director K.V.Reddi he walked out of that movie. Ghantasala who composed music for Maya Bazar retained 4 of Saluri’s tunes.
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao was a child when Maya Bazar was made. He learned music from Saluri Rajeswara Rao. He turned out to be a great fan of Rajeswara Rao. He made a music album on Saluri. All prominent lyricists wrote songs on Saluri and these songs have been set to music by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao himself. Saluri Vasu Rao assisted him in creating some special orchestra effects while mixing this album.
This music album has been reviewed by the eminent musicologist Raja in Sakshi Telugu newspaper in its Sunday edition 4 January 2009. _________________ Mesmerized by music,
